Children and Family Ministry

Sunday School classes meet Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in Garrett Hall on the second floor. The Butterfly class (0-3 years) meets in the nursery located on the first floor of Garrett Hall. All other classes use the Faith Weavers curriculum that is built on a three-year cycle. The goal is to weave faith in Jesus Christ into all areas of the children's lives. The lessons encourage a growing relationship with Jesus. For further information read more...

Word of God for Children meets in the Oratory (chapel) during the first half of the 10:30 a.m. service. Children, ages three years to first grade, are invited to follow the children’s cross during the processional hymn. We will have a time of lively praise and worship and a Bible lesson with prayer. We rejoin the main service at the Peace. Older children are welcome to attend with parent/teacher permission.

CREW is a ministry for 4th-7th graders that meets twice a month for worship, Bible study, prayer, leadership lessons and service in the neighborhood. CREW meets twice a month in Room 208 on Saturdays and participates in special outreach events at the church. For more information, contact Logan Hurst at lhurst@episcopalcathedral.org.

MOM'S CONNECT is a newly formed ministry for mothers with young children. Currently, we meet once a month in a home for brunch and playtime. For more information, contact Logan Hurst at lhurst@episcopalcathedral.org or 214.823.8134 ext. 227 .

PARENTING CLASS— New session of the Parenting Class begins January 11 at 9:30 in Room 204  in Garrett Hall. This class uses the ARK or Adults Relating to Children program for Christian Parents. The foundation of this program is unconditional love received by God and shared with each other. Topics for this session are, “Convening a Family Meeting, Setting Boundaries, Avoiding Over-Reaction, Instilling Responsibility, Focusing on Communication and Handling Sibling Fighting.” For more information contact Logan Hurst at lhurst@episcopalcathedral.org.  

MOM'S CONNECT
On August 15 from 3-5 p.m., we will go to the kid's area at the Dallas Museum of Art for a play date. For more information please email Keeley Chorn at kpchorn@gmail.com or call her at 917.568.8587. The next Moms connect get together has been planned for Saturday, September 12.

Summer Sunday School began last week, June 7, through July 31 Children ages 4 and up are invited to attend a "one room" Sunday School in Room 208 from 9:30-10:20. Come and join the study and fellowship.
Word of God (Children's Chapel) is taking a break this Summer — Children will have the opportunity to attend church with their families this summer. Children's worship bulletins will be available at the back of the church.
